The chal­lenge

TH Nürn­berg is launch­ing an ambi­tious project called OHM-Poten­tiale: to sup­port young founders on their jour­ney from ini­tial idea to successful imple­men­ta­tion. But how do you make a uni­ver­si­ty start-up pro­gram vis­i­ble in mar­ket­ing and dig­i­tal communication so that it can stand out in a crowd­ed market of accel­er­a­tors, incu­ba­tors, and busi­ness schools? The real­i­ty is that founders have count­less pro­grams to choose from. With­out a clear, authen­tic, and moti­vat­ing brand iden­ti­ty, even the best offer­ing will dis­ap­pear in the crowd. We needed to devel­op a look and feel that not only appeared pro­fes­sion­al, but also radi­at­ed gen­uine entre­pre­neur­ial energy.
The claim: Uni­ver­si­ty exper­tise meets entre­pre­neur­ial spirit
The goal was clear­ly defined: to devel­op a modern, dynam­ic brand iden­ti­ty that direct­ly appeals to young talent while con­vey­ing the seri­ous­ness of a renowned author­i­ty on knowl­edge. A visual lan­guage that com­bines dia­logue, growth, and entre­pre­neur­ial energy in a single appearance—and at the same time serves as a strong foun­da­tion for mar­ket­ing and dig­i­tal reach.

The solu­tion

Uni­ver­si­ty exper­tise becomes moti­va­tion for entre­pre­neurs.

The answer lies in a visual lan­guage that con­veys both pro­fes­sion­al­ism and energy and can be effec­tive­ly trans­lat­ed into mar­ket­ing and dig­i­tal communication. While other start-up pro­grams often vac­il­late between aca­d­e­m­ic dry­ness and start-up cool­ness, we devel­oped a com­plete­ly unique approach for OHM-Poten­tiale. Our innovation was based on two strong design ele­ments:
  • The speech bub­bles imme­di­ate­ly create a sense of close­ness and dia­logue. They rep­re­sent direct communication, authen­tic inter­ac­tion, and the personal sup­port that char­ac­ter­izes the pro­gram. Famil­iar and invit­ing, but never unpro­fes­sion­al.
  • The loop becomes a symbol for the entre­pre­neur­ial jour­ney itself: higher, fur­ther, better. It visu­al­izes growth, progress, and the infi­nite pos­si­bil­i­ties that lie within every entre­pre­neur. What makes it spe­cial is that every prod­uct developed—from flyers to work­shop materials—consistently fol­lows this visual logic, strength­en­ing the brand iden­ti­ty with every touch­point and every mar­ket­ing mea­sure.

The impact

What began as the devel­op­ment of a visual iden­ti­ty has now become a com­plete brand iden­ti­ty that deliv­ers mea­sur­able results. The com­bi­na­tion of strate­gic design and con­sis­tent imple­men­ta­tion not only attracts atten­tion, but also cre­ates gen­uine dif­fer­en­ti­a­tion.
Note: As part of the rebrand­ing (2023) of TH Nurem­berg, the OHM Poten­tiale divi­sion was also fully inte­grat­ed into the uni­ver­si­ty’s cor­po­rate design.
The col­lab­o­ra­tion with TH Nurem­berg proves that knowl­edge becomes the strongest brand when exper­tise can be expe­ri­enced visu­al­ly. In an age of information over­load, sound exper­tise that is pre­sent­ed in the right way becomes a deci­sive dif­fer­en­ti­at­ing factor for successful start-ups.
