The challenge
TH Nürnberg is launching an ambitious project called OHM-Potentiale: to support young founders on their journey from initial idea to successful implementation. But how do you make a university start-up program visible in marketing and digital communication so that it can stand out in a crowded market of accelerators, incubators, and business schools? The reality is that founders have countless programs to choose from. Without a clear, authentic, and motivating brand identity, even the best offering will disappear in the crowd. We needed to develop a look and feel that not only appeared professional, but also radiated genuine entrepreneurial energy.
The claim: University expertise meets entrepreneurial spirit
The goal was clearly defined: to develop a modern, dynamic brand identity that directly appeals to young talent while conveying the seriousness of a renowned authority on knowledge. A visual language that combines dialogue, growth, and entrepreneurial energy in a single appearance—and at the same time serves as a strong foundation for marketing and digital reach.

The solution
University expertise becomes motivation for entrepreneurs.
The answer lies in a visual language that conveys both professionalism and energy and can be effectively translated into marketing and digital communication. While other start-up programs often vacillate between academic dryness and start-up coolness, we developed a completely unique approach for OHM-Potentiale. Our innovation was based on two strong design elements:
- The speech bubbles immediately create a sense of closeness and dialogue. They represent direct communication, authentic interaction, and the personal support that characterizes the program. Familiar and inviting, but never unprofessional.
- The loop becomes a symbol for the entrepreneurial journey itself: higher, further, better. It visualizes growth, progress, and the infinite possibilities that lie within every entrepreneur. What makes it special is that every product developed—from flyers to workshop materials—consistently follows this visual logic, strengthening the brand identity with every touchpoint and every marketing measure.
The impact
What began as the development of a visual identity has now become a complete brand identity that delivers measurable results. The combination of strategic design and consistent implementation not only attracts attention, but also creates genuine differentiation.
Note: As part of the rebranding (2023) of TH Nuremberg, the OHM Potentiale division was also fully integrated into the university’s corporate design.
